This is a three-string electric blues box slide guitar, also known as a cigar box guitar from an estate sale. These instruments have historical roots dating back to the 1840s, where musicians crafted them from cigar boxes, broom handles, and three strings. contemporary versions, like the one pictured, are a revival of this traditional American instrument. Typically made with a cigar box-style body, a neck with fret markers, and three strings. The body may be constructed from coated cardboard or durable plastic. Designed for playing slide guitar, producing sounds similar to a steel guitar. It includes a pickup for amplification.
