Vintage traditional, Chinese teapot with Chinese markings on bottom.
This is a vintage previously owned Chinese teapot. I looked and looked and I could not get any information or much information on the exact age but the one thing that I did find was that the cracks in the glaze which looks like crazing was intentional and it was treated at a very high temperature until it crystallizes to form 3-D cracks. It took traditional craftsmanship and ancestral know how. I’m no expert so I cannot guarantee anything. Only what I learned is being relayed. It is a small tea pot. It’s 2 1/2 inches tall with the lid on 3 inches and it’s approximately 6 1/2 inches from the spout to the outside of the handle. The top appears to be a lighter color. I’m assuming that was done intentionally. It has three little raised feet and the lid is connected on with an oriental type knotted threadit’s really pretty. The pattern in the glaze is mesmerizing when you look at it it’s really pretty.
