Rare early copy of this iconic nonfiction work examining psychedelics, the arts, creativity, philosophy, the occult, spirituality and hallucinations. A visionary work by the author of A Brave New World and many others.Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges - including chipping, creasing and some tears. Blue Ribbon seal partially removed causing blemishes to front cover and spine. Small but if liquid damage to fore edge of front cover causing waviness and some staining. A few instances of mildly split binding though spine is straight and binding remains strong. Foxing to top outer edge of text block and some mostly erased underlining and margin marks, in red pencil.
