Vintage 1960's UNMATCHED Ceramic Squirrel Salt & Pepper Shakers Made In Japan
Adorable UNMATCHED Squirrel salt & pepper shakers from the 1960s. They are from two DIFFERENT sets of shakers. The pepper shaker (larger one) stands 4.75 and is 3.25 wide and has a glossy finish. It was likely part of a nested set, as the front of the shaker is concave (see photos). No chips, cracks or crazing; there are one or two small rough spots, though. The stopper is intact. Part of the paint on the nose has been worn off.The salt shaker (smaller one) stands 3.5 tall and is 3 1/8 wide and has a matte finish. Squirrel is holding an acorn. No chips, cracks or crazing, but it has some strange spots on the tail and by one ear that look like paint bubbles that have been popped. One ear has a couple of tiny rough spots on the top. The stopper is missing.Even though they don't match, these two cuties would be cute on display in a squirrel salt & pepper shaker collection.
